If you’ve been to any event, well, anywhere, you know some are awesome while other are, shall we say, not so awesome. At 180 Degrees, we are definitely in the first bucket, but we need help if we are going to stay there. As a Global Events Manager you will be responsible for organising three regional conferences during 2017-2018. In additional, we are relying on you to help us get a new program off the ground: we want to offer several hyper-local events throughout the same timeframe. These events are essential to 180 Degrees – they build organisational identity, provide an opportunity for branch and consultant networking and education, and boost team morale and retention. You will be involved in all aspects of the planning and management of significant international events, including the budgeting, sponsorship negotiation, scheduling, marketing, logistics, catering, and risk management. Someone with experience in, or a future interest in project or event management will thrive in this role. The Global Events Manager reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

This position will focus on the successful implementation of changes across relevant stakeholders in our network. This will primarily involve developing communications strategies and embedding improvements across our organisation – with a view to maximise the social impact we enable our consultants to create. You will also be able to get involved across all of the Consulting Team’s strategic projects.
Director of Business Development
Reporting the the Chief Business Development Officer, the Director of Business Development will work as part of a team to acquire clients and negotiate client contributions. This role is central not only to 180’s financial sustainability, but to the scale of impact the organisation has. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, as it will involve acting as an ambassador of 180’s brand and values in educating potential clients about the services we offer and managing client engagements to ensure satisfaction with the deliverables offered by the teams who take on the work. A high level of confidence in generating and pursuing leads is necessary for success in this role, prior experience in a partnerships or business development is highly desirable although not essential.

This role involves seeking out prospective sources of pro-bono advice, managing relationships with existing partners and advising on everything from licensing agreements, employment agreements, engagement contracts, IP registration, corporate restructuring and regulatory compliance. The role is perfect for a law student in their ultimate or penultimate year of study seeking legal work experience, or an established lawyer looking for a volunteer role with scope for a global impact.
Reporting to the Head Developer and the CIO, we’re looking for a number of talented developers to help us iterate the internal project management platform we’ve created (we call it Compass). Compass tracks each of our 81 branches, and each of the 700 projects we complete annually – allowing us to centrally store the client engagement contracts, track engagement progress, collect and analyse consultant and client feedback, and centrally invoice clients who have offered a contribution. It also allows us to ensure and monitor minimum standards of branch governance. We welcome applications from anyone with a proficiency in PHP looking to gain experience in a live environment working for a good cause. A level of training and guidance will be facilitated for those who need it.
Chief Financial Officer
As the CFO of 180 you’ll be responsible for the compliance and financial sustainability of a global non-profit. While you’ll manage a small team, you yourself will need to be hands on, and willing to pitch in to meet the demands of our branch network – we need someone who’s a doer, not just a thinker. In particular your core responsibilities will be managing the roll out and improvement of our international invoicing system, grant applications, and the development of branch training materials. You’ll also take lead on developing new revenue streams to aid us in growing our impact over the next year.
As the partnerships director you’ll be responsible for aggressively pursuing grants from both the public and private sector, and building 180’s relationships with potential sources of funding. Working closely with the Executive Director you’ll also be responsible for liaising with our international branch network, and consolidating ownership of existing partnership relationships at a regional and international level. This role requires someone who is extremely personable, someone who loves picking up the phone to chat to people (some of whom will be excited to hear from you, some of whom probably won’t), someone who is at ease as an ambassador for 180 in meetings with everyone from fellow charities, to recruitment directors at major consulting firms.
