The Global Leadership Team is the body that leads and manages the work of 180 Degrees Consulting around the world.

This includes supporting existing 180 Degrees branches, helping new branches to get established, facilitating collaboration between branches, ensuring consulting quality control, measuring the social impact of 180 Degrees worldwide, and making crucial strategic decisions about the future of the organization.

Start a Branch

180 Degrees is a highly ambitious organization. We want to grow so that we can help more non-profits and social enterprises to achieve their full potential, and so we can train more university students to become great social impact leaders! There is a massive need for the services that 180 Degrees provides.

We want you to help us expand our impact! If you are based at a university where there is not currently a 180 Degrees branch, we encourage you to consider applying to start a branch. We’re looking for talented, entrepreneurial, hard-working and committed people with the right motivation! 

Starting a branch is a very competitive process as we want to maintain high quality. We want to ensure all branch founders are exceptionally talented, very committed, and have the right motivation. Less than 15% of applications to start a 180 Degrees branch are ultimately approved. For those considering applying, it is important to know that while starting a branch is exceptionally rewarding it is also a significant time commitment. We expect at least 10-15 hours per week dedicated to 180 Degrees. The good news is that if you are approved to start a branch, we’ll support you every step of the way. You will have access to our extensive consulting and marketing resources, be trained in our proven processes, have access to IT support, get advice on how to best run a branch, be invited to our leadership summits, and be able to use our custom built consulting management platform that we call Compass. You will also be a part of the exciting, innovative and growing 180 Degrees global community.

The first step in the process is to express interest by filling in the following form. If we are impressed by your application, we will then be in contact with you regarding next steps. This typically includes an in-person or online interview.

Become a 180 Impact Fellow

Program Overview

180 Degrees Consulting is thrilled to announce our inaugural Impact Fellow program. In this program, we plan to embed a group of 15 consultants into top social enterprises and nonprofits in a developing country for one week. Over the course of the program, Impact Fellows will have the extraordinary opportunity to interact with in-country social sector leaders, and work with them to scale their operations and tackle real-world impact challenges. Our vision is to serve as a force multiplier for impact in the developing world.

180 Degrees Consulting has reserved 15 slots for current members of our organization, and will be seeking students from all branches in every region. The Impact Fellow program will also serve as an opportunity to form lifelong bonds with the best consultants in our organization, and an opportunity to network with other students passionate about the social sector. Moreover, we have reserved 5 slots for current management consultants – the trip will also serve as an opportunity to work alongside young professionals from McKinsey, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and more.

Program Projects

The Impact Fellow 2016 program will take place in Lima, Peru, and will be held from August 6-14, 2016. The program will be facilitated by our partner organization Emzingo, a leadership development company with experience in coordinating international experiences.

Impact Fellows will be working closely with three Peruvian clients in Lima. These include X-Runner, Puriy, and YAQUA. X-Runner is a social enterprise that provides a lasting sanitation solution to low-income, urban households in Peru – they are seeking assistance in developing a marketing and content strategy plan. Puriy is a social enterprise that trains Peruvian women who are victims of domestic violence to produce goods that can be sold for profit – they are seeking assistance on financial analysis, sales strategy, and product mix research. YAQUA is a social enterprise that sells bottled water and funnels 100% of profits to fund water infrastructure projects – they are seeking assistance on marketing and communications strategy to help rebrand their product as Peru’s “100% Solidarity Brand”. Impact Fellows will be split into three teams – each team will work closely with one organization. We will have the opportunity to engage with clients well in advance of the trip. Program Itinerary

In addition to working with our Peruvian clients, we will also be hosting several workshops on the Peruvian social sector. These include a workshop on the Peruvian microfinance ecosystem, a workshop on the Peruvian informal economy, a workshop on community and youth work in Peru, and a workshop on impact investing.

Beyond the educational aspects of the Impact Fellow program, we will also be taking a weekend to explore the city of Cusco as well as Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was voted as one of the New Wonders of the World.

Program Costs

The full cost of the Impact Fellow 2016 program is $2100. This includes all food and lodging costs in-country, as well as in-country travel to Cusco and Machu Picchu. The $2100 fee does not cover flights to and from Lima, Peru. A 25% deposit for students and professionals admitted to the program is due on May 23, 2016. The full program fee is due on June 20, 2016.
