  • Q: Do I have to be a student at your university branch to be able to apply?
A: Yes. We will only be able to consider applications from current SOAS university students.
  • Q: What is the weekly time commitment associated with being a Consultant for 180DC?
A: Approximately 8 to 10 hours per week. This includes organisation-wide meetings, project group meetings, and any research/tasks Project Leaders may assign to Consultants. There may be some variation depending on the stage of a project, however, we are considerate about our members’ academic commitments and strive to work around them. Our members typically find it very manageable to accommodate this commitment alongside other academic and extra-curricular involvement.

180DC exceeded our expectations and demonstrated exemplary professionalism in their approach. The team was thoroughly prepared from the start: they showed up to our initial meeting having already done their research into our organisation, and with a set agenda to introduce themselves and the consultancy process! The team went above and beyond the brief and identified further ways in which they could help our organisation.
  • Together We Thrive

    Area: Human Rights
    Year: 2021

Through our projects and campaigns, we link like-minded people together online, offline, locally and around different parts of the UK. Through training and education opportunities we connect Muslim women to people from all backgrounds. We encourage and facilitate women from faith communities to use their knowledge and experiences to benefit themselves and others around them. (https://togetherwethrive.co.uk/ )

It was excellent to work with the SOAS 180DC team. They were thorough and diligent and did so much work in a short space of time. We were so impressed with what the team delivered and it has had a huge impact on the work we are doing and how we can best take it forward and to the next level. We simply could not have done it without them and we are so grateful!
