180 Degrees Consulting – UNC Chapel Hill strives to provide the highest quality advisory services to non-profits and socially-minded organizations.

We strive to solve the most pressing challenges facing today’s non-profits. This is done by training high performing students in consulting practices. We then give them opportunities to work within the community with non-profits and socially-minded organizations. As a result, students can create innovative, practical and sustainable solutions to the challenges of non-profits.

The UNC Chapel Hill branch is the 100th branch of 180 Degrees, the world’s largest volunteer consultancy. We meet the need of non-profits for very affordable, high-quality strategic and operational advice by utilizing the untapped potential of top university talent.

We carefully recruit top university students from around the world, and then provide them with professional training and personal mentoring so that they develop as future leaders. Then we match top university talent with non-profits based on their expertise, qualifications, interests, abilities, knowledge, and geographic location. Our teams then analyze the specific challenges the organizations are facing, and develop in-depth practical solutions to those challenges. This consulting process is carefully managed to ensure quality control – from developing project briefs, to signing contracts, to tracking consultant progress, to giving consultants access to the best resources, to ensuring timely and quality completion of work, to ensuring the work is useful and has a tangible impact.
