The University of Wollongong (UOW) branch of 180 Degrees Consulting was founded in 2021. The UOW branch is involved in a number of projects within the Illawarra and Sydney, working with a range of not-for-profits and social enterprises. 180 Degrees Consulting UOW connects high-achieving and passionate students with the unmet needs of socially conscious organisations in the community, to develop innovative, practical and sustainable solutions to a wide range of business challenges.

    The University of Wollongong Law Students' Society (UOWLSS) is an integral organisation for the development of hundreds of UOW law students’ professional and social experiences. The UOWLSS provides the student community with a variety of events, activities, and programs that demonstrate a strong commitment to social justice.

    180 Degrees Consulting UOW assisted in establishing a strategic plan for the UOWLSS, by providing key research and analysis into organisational goals and needs. 180 Degrees Consulting worked to improve UOWLSS’ operational efficiency in the areas of organisational design, marketing and communications, supply chain and project management.
  • UOW Pulse

    UOW Pulse is one of Australia’s largest student engagement organisations within the tertiary sector. UOW Pulse compliments the University of Wollongong’s academic activities through services including Student Engagement, Food & Beverage, Retail, Sports & Fitness, Catering & Events and Children’s Services.

    180 Degrees Consulting UOW assisted UOW Pulse in defining its social return on investment as a leading student engagement organisation. This required a contextual analysis of what UOW Pulse offers in comparison to UOW students' wants and needs. Furthermore, a clear communication strategy was recommended which outlined impactful marketing approaches, student survey models, and strategic approaches towards relationship marketing.
  • Hidden Harvest

    Hidden Harvest is a volunteer-fuelled, not for profit organisation based in the Illawarra region. Hidden Harvest aim to combat change by upskilling communities with the tools and forks to tackle food waste and serve up for a more sustainable future.

    180 Degrees Consulting UOW assisted Hidden Harvest in increasing engagement with students across the UOW Campus. This included extensive research and analysis into the relationship between Hidden Harvest and students. 180 Degrees Consulting provided Hidden Harvest with a number of insights and recommendations.
  • Willo (Where There's a Will)

    Year: 2021

    Willo is a unique organisation. As a community outreach campaign it singlehandedly unites art,
    sport and disability awareness through affirmative action to create conversations about diversity, inclusion and kindness whilst forming long lasting connections and relationships within the community.

    180 Degrees Consulting UOW assisted Willo to prepare a short- and long-term
    business plan. This plan covered areas including, but not limited to
    social impact measurement, volunteer agreements, as well as
    marketing and communications.
  • Cancer Council

    Area: Strategy, Marketing
    Year: 2021

    Cancer Council is Australia’s leading cancer charity, and the only Australian charity working across every aspect of every cancer, from research to prevention and support. Cancer Council support people affected by cancer when they need it most, speak out on behalf of the community on cancer issues, empower people to reduce their cancer risk, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.

    180 Degrees Consulting UOW assisted the Cancer Council through the support of the UOW Pulse Community Volunteers Program. 180 Degrees Consulting UOW focuses on the design and implementation of the online fundraising initiative. This helped to maximise community engagement with the project and boosted donations.
