Conventus 2.0- A Networking Mixer by 180 Degrees Consulting Hansraj College, India

2 minute read

In the world of consulting, networking is like building blocks. It's where relationships are made, ideas are exchanged, and teamwork is encouraged. A great example of this was the recent inter-branch networking mixer called "Conventus 2.0", hosted by 180 Degrees Consulting at Hansraj College, University of Delhi.

In 2020, 180 Degrees Consulting Hansraj kickstarted a vibrant initiative, bringing together 6 branches and 30 enthusiastic participants from the Delhi University Campus. Since then, the initiative has experienced phenomenal growth, welcoming 17 branches and 100 people across India this year. 180 Degrees Consulting Hansraj blazed the trail by becoming the first branch in India to have organised a networking mixer.

Conventus 2.0 served as an incredible platform for the fellow 180DC members to socialise with each other and spark conversations about their respective social impact initiatives. The consultants sent by different 180 DC branches were shuffled among themselves, creating 20 cross-branch teams with distinctive group names, thereby enhancing interconnectedness and collaboration among participants.

The event started with participants introducing themselves while enjoying an interesting ice-breaker session. During this session, consultants played "Bazingo," a lively twist on bingo where participants marked off memorable facts relevant to them. Following the game, participants were encouraged to share their personal anecdotes, which brought the entire group together. The participants thoroughly enjoyed their time and meals at the Mitti Cafe, a cafe run entirely by persons with disabilities within the Hansraj College campus.

Afterwards, the teams were tasked with a stimulating case study that focused on the hurdles faced by an online dating platform dedicated to Delhi University students. They were asked to devise a holistic strategy to address these challenges.

Notably, the event was graced by the presence of the alumni of 180 Degrees Consulting Hansraj currently working at consulting firms, such as Bain & Co., Deloitte, ZS Associates, etc., who guided the discourse on the case study solutions. The presentations delivered by the participants not only showcased their innovation, but also set the stage for the judges to offer invaluable insights drawn from their extensive expertise.

As the day wrapped up, a sense of camaraderie prevailed among consultants emphasising the significance of nurturing collaboration. The vibrant energy and excitement throughout the day underscored the importance of fostering synergy across branches. It was heartwarming to see everyone bonding and capturing moments together, reaffirming that the event truly achieved its goal. Conventus has laid the foundation for other 180 DC branches inIndia and beyond to organise similar networking events.

When the finest consulting minds converge, brilliance becomes inevitable. This networking mixer served as a testament to the collective strength of 180DC and its unwavering commitment to driving social impact through innovative consulting paradigms.
