Director of Global Operations

The Directors of Global Operations (DGOs) are the primary link between the Global Leadership Team and 180 Degrees branches around the world. Each DGO manages and supports between 5-12 different 180 Degrees branches. This includes having monthly calls with the leaders of each branch, supporting branches on an ongoing basis, updating branches on new resources and services that the Global Leadership Team has developed, and ensuring that branches are meeting the “10 Core Standards” – the requirements of being a 180 Degrees branch.

Time Required

  • This role is voluntary, with a significant degree of flexibility regarding when work is undertaken
  • You must be able to commit to 8-10 hours per week, including regular fortnightly Operations Team meetings, a monthly GLT-wide meeting and regular monthly calls with each of the branches you are managing
  • You must be able to commit for a duration of at least 12 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure branches have the support they need to achieve their operational goals
  • Maintain open and consistent communication with branches
  • Provide advice to branches, especially newly elected branch executives
  • Ensure branches are aware of the full range of support and resources that the GLT provides
  • Review branch client contracts and project deliverables for compliance with 180 Degrees standards
  • Troubleshoot branch issues across a range of functional areas (including operations and finance)
  • Develop new ways to engage branches, both laterally (branch to GLT engagement) and horizontally (branch to branch engagement)

Data and Insights Analyst

We are looking for a highly motivated Data and Insights Analyst who is passionate about investigating data to develop insights. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, the Data and Insights Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing large quantities of complex data sets to help make better data-driven decisions

Responsibilities

  • Work as a part of the operations team for identifying and capturing data points; inspecting and cleansing data and transforming data into meaningful analysis

  • Maintain a reporting system for weekly analysis of data. Present findings/observations and provide suggestions to support decision making

Global Consulting Director

Reporting to the Chief Consulting Officer, the Global Consulting Directors are responsible for improving the quality of consulting advice we deliver as an organisation of 5000+ consultants.  Working closely with commercial industry partners to apply consulting methodologies to common issues faced by non-profit organizations, the consulting team (of which the Global Consulting Directors are a part) will create resources designed to accelerate team progress in consulting engagements and enhance the quality of consulting advice we provide out clients. The team will also work closely with other areas of the organisation to help successfully embed our online training platform and any other resources.

This position presents an opportunity to engage in knowledge management that will impact hundreds of non-profits each year.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for improving the quality of consulting services that 180 Degrees Consulting provides to non-profits world-wide. This is a broad remit, and could involve:

  • Collecting branch feedback to create materials and resources for consultants
  • Analysing past consulting projects to determine patterns in the issues faced by non-profits
  • Analysing client feedback to determine strengths and weaknesses in project outcomes globally
  • Developing training documents, videos, slides, templates, and other resources to support training on both general consulting methodologies and specific project types
  • Planning and delivering an improved training delivery platform through third-party hosting services or through our internal portal called Compass

Director of Global Growth

The Director of Global Growth is responsible for developing and executing 180 Degrees’ global expansion strategy.

Key Responsibilities

They are primarily involved in:

  • Developing innovative solutions and tailored approaches to expand 180 Degrees in key regions around the world. Directors should ideally be passionate about or have knowledge of 1-2 regions/countries and be willing to pursue creative strategies to source and cultivate new branch founders.
  • Coaching prospective branch founding teams through the process to design, plan, launch and manage a new branch.
  • Liaising with the Global Operations team to transition branches once they are established.
  • Contributing to team development initiatives, such as strategy documentation, process optimisation and impact measurement.

In 2018, we opened 29 branches in 11 countries including geographic expansions to 3 new countries. These branches go on to complete hundreds of projects for charity and social sector organisations in every part of the world. As such, the work of Directors of Global Growth is long-lasting and has a significant impact.

Global Marketing Director

The Global Marketing Director is responsible for the public face of 180 Degrees Consulting. The Global Marketing Director manages 180 Degrees’ social media presence across a range of platforms, develops brand resources to professionalize our engagements with external stakeholders, and develops marketing initiatives designed to communicate 180 Degrees’ impact and success to consultants, clients, and branches. The marketing team is also responsible for the production of an internal monthly newsletter that communicates key initiatives, celebrates stand-out individual and branch performances, and contributes to the sense of organizational culture and cohesion.

  • Track, measure and report on the progress of 180’s marketing strategies

Desired Attributes

  • The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about the nonprofit sector, and loves gathering and communicating stories about social change and social impact

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute a social media marketing strategy that drives high engagement across all channels for both client and student audiences

  • Collaborate with Design and Content Directors to maintain a pipeline of high quality content in varying formats including client testimonials, #Humansof180, branch/project spotlights, thought leadership, industry research, supporting newsletters etc.

Global Business Development Director

Responsibilities

  • Execute an outbound lead generation strategy (through LinkedIn, cold emails/calls) to sign bigger clients to 180 Degrees with a higher financial contribution
  • Negotiate consulting engagements/scopes with an agreed financial contribution and have clients sign consulting engagement contracts
  • Liaise with the Director of Global Operations and the relevant 180 Degrees branch executives to allocate consulting projects to the right branches
  • Identify changes to the client acquisition process to improve efficiency and transparency across the team and the GLT as a whole
  • Support our goal to provide mentoring and training to 180 Degrees branches through developing high-quality training resources

Responsibilities

  • Identify large NGO’s and social enterprises 180 Degrees could potentially be strategic partners with
  • Take full ownership of preparing and presenting a comprehensive partnership proposal that would take into consideration the following:
  • Improving the financial sustainability of 180 Degrees
  • Monetizing our existing vast student network
  • Establishing a long-term pipeline of projects for 180 Degrees branches
  • Create the internal processes necessary to effectively deliver on such partnerships
  • Liaise with the Directors of Global Operations (DGO’s) and Branch Executives for the effective delivery of those partnerships

Global Grants & Sponsorships Director

Reporting to the Chief Business Development Officer, the Grants and Sponsorships Director is responsible for actively pursuing sponsorship deals and grants from both the public and private sector, and building 180’s relationships with potential sources of funding. The role is to research and qualify potential funding opportunities for which 180 Degrees could be suitable for, and manage the application and execution of such opportunities. This role requires someone who is extremely personable, someone who loves picking up the phone to chat to people (some of whom will be excited to hear from you, some of whom probably won’t), and someone who is at ease as an ambassador for 180 Degrees in meetings with everyone.

Global Financial Director

Together with the CFO, the Global Financial Director is responsible for the financial sustainability of 180 Degrees. The CFO and Global Financial Directors are responsible for (a) developing relationships with sponsors, foundations and governments that involve some form of financial support, (b) managing the financial systems used to collect financial contributions from clients, and (c) ensuring all financial reporting and compliance obligations are met. This role will suit someone with experience and interest in accounting, finance, business development, and/or fundraising.

  • Develop and execute a financial strategy for 2018/19, utilizing the funding options available to 180 Degrees as a revenue-generating social franchise non-profit.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with a variety of regulatory bodies across different jurisdictions
  • Administer and improve the invoicing processes used by 180 Degrees branches seeking client financial contributions
  • Manage partnership relationships and grant applications, and seek out new strategic partnerships across the regions in which 180 Degrees operates

Global Legal Director

The Global Legal Director is responsible for handling the legal needs of 180 Degrees Consulting. In this role, you will seek out prospective sources of pro bono legal advice, manage relationships with existing partners, and advise on various issues including but not limited to service agreements and IP registration. You will also work with branch executives to help resolve legal challenges related to branch establishment, client engagements, and sponsorship arrangements

You must have

  • Experience in drafting and editing contracts
  • All necessary qualifications/certifications to provide legal advice in an unsupervised capacity
  • A proven ability to work independently as part of a virtual team

Time Required

  • This role is voluntary, with a significant degree of flexibility in how and where you allocate time during the week

Global Information Technology Director

We’re looking for a number of talented Global Information Technology Directors to help us iterate the internal project management platform we’ve created, which we call Compass. Compass tracks each of our branches, and each of the projects we complete annually. It allows us to centrally store the client engagement contracts, track engagement progress, collect and analyse consultant and client feedback, and centrally invoice clients who have offered a contribution. It also allows us to ensure minimum standards of branch governance.

Our IT infrastructure directly facilitates the scale at which we can operate. Working as a developer for 180 Degrees offers an opportunity to write code that will enable us to grow and serve thousands more clients and students each year. While our ideal candidate will be an experienced full stack developer looking for an avenue to contribute socially, we welcome applications from anyone with a proficiency in PHP looking to gain experience in a live environment working for a good cause. Global Human Resources Director

Reporting directly to the Global Executive Director, the Human Resources Director is responsible for ensuring that the Global Leadership Team always has the right people in the right roles, and that volunteers on the GLT are performing to their full potential. The Human Resources Director is responsible for recruiting new GLT members, onboarding new GLT members once they are selected, and offboarding existing GLT members (including conducting leaving surveys).
