Senior Developer

We’re looking for a number of talented developers to help us iterate the internal project management platform we’ve created, which we call Compass. Compass tracks each of our 85 branches, and each of the 800 projects we complete annually. It allows us to centrally store the client engagement contracts, track engagement progress, collect and analyse consultant and client feedback, and centrally invoice clients who have offered a contribution. It also allows us to ensure minimum standards of branch governance.

Our IT infrastructure directly facilitates the scale at which we can operate. Working as a developer for 180 Degrees offers an opportunity to write code that will enable us to grow from 85 branches to 250-500 branches, thereby enabling us to serve thousands more clients and students each year. While our ideal candidate will be an experienced full stack developer looking for an avenue to contribute socially, we welcome applications from anyone with a proficiency in PHP looking to gain experience in a live environment working for a good cause. A level of training and guidance will be facilitated for those who need it.

  • You must be able to commit to 5-8 hours per week, including a regular fortnightly team meeting.

  • The ideal candidate will be a full stack developer with 1-2 years experience in a professional environment.
  • Proficiency with PHP, or a willingness to learn it quickly, is essential.
  • This position may suit a recent CS graduate looking for work experience.

  • High levels of time management and personal organization is essential.
